Leadership

Reflection:
This this month's leadership, I wanna focus on the upcoming tradeshow. I think that this has definetely been the most difficult task for me this year. As the CMO, there has been a lot of responsibility put on me when it comes to tradeshow booth design. Looking back, I think there are a lot of things I could have done better. There were several times in which as a leader, I didn't speak up in order to get my team on task. Of course this is extremely valuable to the company because the booth is how we represent ourselves, however I'm fearful we will be unprepared. I hate to say that I do not believe I put in the optimal effort to lead this as a Chief. While there were a few times I did speak up and try to get people working, I should have done more to ensure we were prepared. My role in this project was to lead my team in creating a design for the tradeshow booth. Not only did we have to come up wth the design, we had to decide everthing that was brought or purchased for decor, giveaways, etc. As the Chief, my role was to oversee my team's tasks in making sure the booth was prepared. Since this is the last tradeshow, it's hard for me to change things for the future, however, if we had a chance to do another tradeshow, there are a few things I would change. First, I need to act with more authority. There are times in which I'm a bit hesistant to speak up and assign tasks due to the fact that the people on my team are the same age as me. Another thing that I've been trying to improve this whole year is time management. If we had a tradeshow in the future, I would definetely want to get EVERYTHING done at least one week prior to the show, that way we are less stressed and have more time to make adjustments without having to throw everything together at the last minute. Overall, this was definetely a task that I could improve on and it was an awesome learning experience in leadership.
